The Ponte Vedra High School boys varsity baseball team made it to the Class 5A Regional Final on Wednesday night but could not overcome their Bay County opponent.
Mosley High School prevailed in the 13-1 game, allowing the Sharks their only run in the fourth inning. The regional final was Ponte Vedra’s first since its state championship run in 2013.
Mosley scored two runs in the first inning and never looked back. By the end of the third inning, Mosley had already put seven runs on the scoreboard.
The defeat ended the Sharks’ winning streak. The team beat Stanton in the Regional Semifinal on May 11 with a score of 7-3 to advance to the Final.
