Venardos Circus, a Broadway-style, animal-free circus, is returning to the St. Augustine Amphitheatre this month.
There will be 30 shows over three weeks, throughout the Christmas holiday break, in the intimate red-and-white striped tent. The shows will run from Dec. 18 through Jan. 2.
The circus last performed in St. Augustine in 2019. Tickets are on sale now via VenardosCircus.com. Parking for the performances is free.
“We are thrilled to be back out on tour again bringing smiles and joy to families and kids of ALL ages,” said Kevin Venardos, founder and producer of The Venardos Circus. “Guests can expect to be transported back in time to the center ring of a centuries-old tradition, but one that we have tried hard to reinvent for a next generation while still tugging at the nostalgia of those returning to the circus.”
Venardos Circus features its own custom-made big-top, a classic red-and-white striped tent, with an intimate feel and limited seating.
The performers also serve as the crew in this traveling tour, much like in the original circus tradition. There are no animals in Venardos Circus.
Festive preshow entertainment begins an hour prior to show time and tent concessions will be available when the doors open. The complete show schedule is available at VenardosCircus.com.
The circus has been touring the United States since its debut at the L.A. County Fair in 2014.
General admission tickets are $17 for youth under age 12 and $27 for adults. One babe in arms (24 months or younger, seated on a lap) is admitted free with each paying adult. Premium reserved seating is available for premium pricing, starting at $37 for all ages. Ringmaster V.I.P. seating starts at $47 for all ages.
