‘The Lorax’ movie and green market at Hemming Park

‘On Broadway’ concert

The Jacksonville Symphony will present “On Broadway” as part of its Fidelity National Financial Pops Series, featuring the music of well-known Broadway classics, guest conductor Steven Reineke, and guest artists Carrie Manolakos and Ryan Silverman. Performances are Friday April 15 at 8 p.m., Saturday April 16 at 8 p.m. and Sunday April 17 at 3 p.m. at the Times-Union Center for the Performing Arts, 300 Water St. in Jacksonville. Sharon Booma exhibition opening

The opening reception for Sharon Booma: Collection of Impulses will be held Friday April 15 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Cultural Center at Ponte Vedra Beach, 50 Executive Way. A nationally recognized artist, Booma relocated from Boston to Ponte Vedra Beach three years ago. Her works will be on display in the cultural center’s Main Gallery through May 27. The center’s Scene Gallery will host Unmasked: Art with a Heart in Healthcare from April 15-May 27. The center’s annex galleries, meanwhile, will feature artist member exhibitions by Gabriela Stevens and Vicky Lennon at the Vicar’s Landing Annex Gallery and Ponte Vedra Concert Hall Annex Gallery, respectively, from April 15-May 27. Senior Life and Education Day

Senior Life Network presents Senior Life and Education Day, an event designed to provide information for seniors to improve their health and living well, will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday April 15 at TPC Sawgrass. The event will feature health screenings and complimentary consultations by local health care practices and professionals. Businesses and professionals that provide services to seniors will also be present to provide information and resources. Vilano Beach Dish N Fish

VIlano Beach Main Street, Inc. will host the inaugural Dish N Fish, a culinary tourism event that will be held at the Vilano Beach Town Center April16 from 2 to 8 p.m. The event will include a chef competition among high school culinary students from 3 to 5 p.m. as well as samples from 10 well-known area restaurants, beverages from area wine distributers, craft beer makers and the St. Augustine Distillery, live music and more. Admission is a $5 donation benefitting FRLA High School Culinary Grants for ProStart students and Vilano Beach Main Street improvement projects. Children 15 and under are admitted free. Cirque du Nocatee

The community is invited to enjoy a special day of awe and amusement at the upcoming Nocatee Farmers Market: Cirque du Nocatee. To be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday April 16, the event will feature local shopping, food and entertainment by acrobatic artists, contortionists, stilt walkers, aerial hoop performers and more. Free face painting will be available, along with a bounce house and food trucks. This free family-friendly event includes more than 80 local vendors selling everything from produce and jewelry to unique foods, herbs and more. Mindspring Music Festival

Mindspring Musical Festival kicks off its inaugural music festival with over 50 musical performances at the St. Johns County Fairgrounds, SR 207, Elkton Saturday April 16 at 10 a.m. This is an all ages event. Beach & Bicycle Safety Rodeo

Join the City of Jacksonville Beach's Downtown C.A.P.E. officers for this fun and educational event for all children. Activities include a bicycle obstacle course and safety course, child fingerprinting, and giveaways from Ocean Rescue and the City of Jacksonville Beach Fire & Rescue. The Beach & Bicycle Safety Rodeo takes place Saturday April 16 at 10 a.m. at the Seawalk Pavilion.

Flower & Garden Expo

The 21st Annual Flower & Garden Expo is April 16 and 17 at the St. Johns Agricultural Center. This year’s show features a variety of vendors bringing a wide array of horticulture including olive trees, aquatic plants, herbs, ferns, succulents, citrus, anthuriums, bamboo, colorful flowering plants, butterfly plants, native plants and more plus gardening accessories and art. Use your Expo pass to receive free admission to the Taste on April 23. Tickets are $5 for a two-day pass, and children under 11 admitted free. The Expo pass will get patrons into EPIC’s “A Taste of St. Augustine” on April 23.
On Sunday morning, the 2nd Annual Expo Brunch will take place (separate ticket required). Party for the Planet at Jacksonville Zoo & Gardens

The annual Party for the Planet will take place Saturday April 16 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens. This year, the Zoo is combining the party with Citizen Science Day for a celebration to learn now you can help the planet. Festivities begin at 10 a.m. with a river clean up on the banks of the Trout River and continue until 3 p.m. with a DJ and activities for kids of all ages. The party is free with zoo admission.

Oyster Jam Music Festival

The 2016 Oyster Jam Music Festival is Saturday, April 16 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday, April 17 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Metropolitan Park, 1410 Gator Bowl Blvd., Jacksonville. Entry to the festival is $12 per person; children under the age of 16 are admitted free of charge. There will be a variety of food including chargrilled, steamed and raw oysters, live music and activities for the entire family.
