Katz 4 Keeps Adoption Days
Katz 4 Keeps adoption days will take place Saturday, Sept. 17 and Sunday, Sept. 18 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Katz 4 Keeps, 935B A1A N. in Ponte Vedra Beach (next to Sherwin Williams). Nocatee Farmers Market

Nocatee Farmers Market: BMX-Treme Extravaganza will take place 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17 at Nocatee Farmers Market Field, 100 Marketside Ave., Ponte Vedra Beach. The day will include BMX performances from Perfection on Wheel’s BMX Pros Trick Team. Each show is set to include half-pipe tricks and stunts, crowd participation and more. The monthly Nocatee Farmers Market includes more than 70 local vendors offering items such as organic produce, herbs, spices, delicious unique foods, crafts, jewelry and more. Harvest Moon Rising

In celebration of the National Park Service centennial, Timucuan Parks Foundation will host Harvest Moon Rising Saturday, Sept. 17 at the historic Broward House, 9953 Heckscher Drive, Jacksonville. Mark Woods, columnist for the Florida Times-Union, will speak about his book “Lassoing the Sun: A Year in America’s National Parks.” Woods will also personally sign the books purchased at the event. The evening will also include Florida-style cracker cooking from bb’s restaurant, a specialty “moon-shine” cocktail, live music by Dixie Rodeo and harvest moon-gazing with the Northeast Florida Astronomical Society. Beaches Tour of Homes
The inaugural Beaches Tour of Homes will be held Saturday, Sept. 17. Residents of Neptune and Atlantic Beach will open their homes to showcase the historical and architectural elements that make their homes unique. Doors will open at 10 a.m. for a self-guided one-day tour. Homes can be toured between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.; volunteers and some homeowners will be on-site to answer questions about the homes’ history and design.
Proceeds will benefit the Beaches Town Center Agency, a nonprofit organization that works for the improvement of the Atlantic and Neptune Beach central business district. Day-of-tour tickets will be $30. For more information, visit http://beachestowncenter.com/news/beaches-tour-of-homes.

Batman Day Celebration
On Sept. 17 at 2 p.m., Barnes & Noble at St. Johns Town Center will host the 3rd annual Batman Day Celebration The event will feature Batman-themed activities for the whole family to enjoy including trivia, coloring and more. Blood Drive

Ponte Vedra United Methodist Church will hold a blood drive Sunday, Sept. 18. The Blood Alliance mobile unit will be parked at the church at 76 S. Roscoe Blvd. from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome. To sign up for a specific time, go to www.oneblood.org. The sponsor code for the drive is 31016. Anyone who is in good health, at least 17 years old and weighs at least 110 pounds may donate blood. There is no upper age limit to donate, as long as your doctor says it is okay. Those who have visited Panama, Costa Rica and some other countries that have had malaria outbreaks within the past year are not eligible to donate blood. You do need to have a photo ID.
