‘The Grapes of Wrath’

FWA Ponte Vedra Writer’s meeting

Writers wanting to climb aboard the YA bandwagon can have their questions answer by two successful YA authors, S. E. Green (aka Shannon Greenland) and Lynne Matson, at this month’s meeting of the FWA Ponte Vedra Writers, Sat., Jan. 23 at 10:30 a.m. at the Ponte Vedra Library. The Ponte Vedra Writers group is part of the Florida Writers Association, a statewide, non-profit organization with nearly 1,500 members dedicated to the support of both aspiring and published writers in any genre. The M*A*S*H Gala benefitting Ayla’s Acres No-Kill Animal Rescue

St. Augustine Florida-based Ayla’s Acres No-Kill Animal Rescue will present The M*A*S*H Gala: A Benefit for Ayla’s Acres No-Kill Animal Rescue on Sat., Jan. 23 from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. at The TPC Sawgrass Clubhouse in Ponte Vedra.
The event will be emceed by actor Ed Asner, best-known as television’s iconic Lou Grant, and features a reunion of cast members from the award-winning television series M*A*S*H. Attending cast members include Mike Farrell (Captain “B.J.” Hunnicut), Jamie Farr (Corporal Maxwell Klinger), Loretta Swit (Major Margaret “Hotlips” Houlihan) and a special appearance by an additional beloved cast member to be announced during the event.

Individual tickets are available as well as packages including 10-person tables and a limited number of VIP tickets for a reception with the stars prior to the event. Hilton Garden Inn Ponte Vedra will offer discounted rooms for people attending the event.

The Polish Baltic Philharmonic

EMMA Concert Association and Flagler College present The Polish Baltic Philharmonic with pianist Marcin Koziak performing Chopin Piano Concert No. 2 on Saturday, Jan. 23 at 7:30 p.m. The performance will take place in the Lewis Auditorium at Flagler College, 74 King St., St. Augustine.
