Coastal Friends will host Doug Milne, Florida attorney and local historian, as their guest speaker at the Nov. 6 luncheon. Milne is also a Florida Supreme Court certified circuit civil mediator and will talk about the history of Thanksgiving.
The luncheon runs from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and will be held at Marsh Landing Country Club, 25655 Marsh Landing Parkway, Ponte Vedra Beach.
The special Thanksgiving luncheon is open to members and guests, as well as the community. The menu will consist of a house salad, turkey with mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans and pumpkin pie.
The cost to attend is $25. Space is limited for this sought-after event so reservations must be made in advance by contacting the luncheon chairman at bartshar@comcast.net as soon as possible. The deadline for checks to be received is Friday morning, Nov. 1.
Established in 1998, Coastal Friends is a social club comprised of women who live in Ponte Vedra Beach, Nocatee, Jacksonville and the surrounding area, Jacksonville Beach, Neptune Beach, Atlantic Beach and St. Augustine. Some of the activities offered are adventures and outings, book club, bunco, canasta, happy hour, lunch in, lunch out, mah jongg, samba and wine socials.
