Champions for Children raises $400K

The MaliVai Washington Youth Foundation has announced that this year’s Current/Sherman Group of Merrill Lynch’s Champions For Children Gala raised more than $400,000, a record-breaking total for the organization.

Thanks to the generosity of the foundation’s donors, sponsors and special guests Bob and Mike Bryan, the event achieved its highest milestone yet. Proceeds will directly support the foundation’s programs, serving at-risk youth in Jacksonville’s urban core.

Event highlights included:

• Special recognition of Pat and Inger Geraghty and the dedication of the foundation Pavilion in Pat Geraghty’s honor.

• Presentation of the Student Athlete of the Year Award and George M. Soper Scholarship recipient, Sa’Niya Jenkins.

• A panel discussion featuring Bob and Mike Bryan, sharing stories from their legendary tennis careers and insights on teamwork and perseverance.
