THE PLAYERS Championship recently announced that Kevin R. Copeland has been named its 2027 tournament chairman. Copeland succeeds Marc Hassan in the role overseeing the more than 2,000 volunteers who support all aspects of the PGA Tour’s flagship event.

The Red and Blue Coats volunteer leadership team manages the 48 committees responsible for the operations integral to THE PLAYERS’ success. The 2027 volunteer leadership team is as follows: Chairman Kevin Copeland, First Vice-Chair Laura Renstrom and vice-chairs Luke Pritchett, Hamilton Neal, Ryan Sitnik and Frank Streva.

A Jacksonville resident for nearly 30 years, Copeland is entering his 11th year as a volunteer with The PLAYERS Championship and has served in a variety of leadership roles throughout the volunteer organization.

Professionally, Copeland serves as director, head of deposit and P&C Fraud Strategies and Analytics for USAA. He is actively involved in several youth advocacy organizations, serving as board chairman of Children’s Home Society of North Florida and as a member of the board of The Depaul School for Dyslexia Literacy. A graduate of the University of Central Florida, Copeland is the father of two sons, Aiden and Sebastian, and enjoys spending time outdoors, fishing and esports gaming.

“The PLAYERS has been an important part of my life for the last 11 years, so it’s a tremendous honor to serve as tournament chairman,” said Copeland. “This championship brings together an incredible group of volunteers, and I’m looking forward to working alongside them as we continue to grow the tournament’s impact throughout Northeast Florida.”

Welcoming Frank Streva

Entering his 10th year as a volunteer with THE PLAYERS Championship, Frank Streva has served on several committees and leadership teams throughout the tournament’s volunteer organization. After beginning on the Marshals (Gallery Management) and Tournament Support committees, he went on to serve in leadership roles with Tournament Support, Admissions, Carts and Special Events.

Originally from Houma, Louisiana, Streva and his family relocated to Northeast Florida 10 years ago and now reside in Ponte Vedra Beach. Volunteering at The PLAYERS is a family tradition, with sons Stuart and William serving as runners and standard bearers and Hayes preparing for his first role as a runner.

Streva serves as senior vice president of Ring Power Corporation and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing from Louisiana State University and an MBA with a concentration in finance from the University of New Orleans. He is also involved with several local charitable organizations, including Golf Fights Cancer’s Jacksonville Golf Marathon, Children Are Rock Stars (C.A.R.S.) benefiting Community Hospice Northeast Florida and Blessings in a Backpack.

As the newest vice-chair at The PLAYERS Championship, Streva will oversee the Volunteer Division, supporting the programs and committees that serve the championship’s more than 2,000 volunteers.

“It’s an honor to serve as a vice chair for The PLAYERS,” said Streva. “I’ve been fortunate to work alongside so many incredible volunteers over the years, and I’m excited to help support the people who make this championship possible and continue building on its impact in our community.”
