Searching For Identity invites the public to “Meet the Visionistas” in their upcoming season of LiterARTure. Presented by art lecturer Cindy Edelman and writer Stacey Goldring, this one-of-a-kind cultural arts series enlightens and educates. Held at Jacksonville University’s campus, each LiterARTure program sparks endless “a-ha” moments and profound insights.

Doors open at 9:15 a.m. for coffee and a light breakfast before the program begins at 10 a.m. There is reserved parking at Terry Concert Hall.

Goldring and Edelman come together to explore the work of contemporary artists and authors in a fast-paced presentation, heavy with visual references and witty banter. Through the lens of fascinating art history and literary exploration, they will delve into timeless universal themes about what binds us together.

The four-part “Meet the Visionistas!” LiterARTure Series opens Nov. 10 with a look at Post-Impressionist Vincent Van Gogh and his unconventional use of color and Walt Whitman with his free-spirted poetic works.

In 2027, the season continues with an exploration of celebrated contemporary Njideka Akunyili Crosby and renowned playwright Tennessee Williams on Feb. 24.

On April 14, Edelman and Goldring will discuss the remarkable works of Holocaust remembrance and resilience created by Photo Realist Audrey Flack and philosopher and psychologist Viktor E. Frank.

Visionary friends artist Édouard Manet and author Emile Zola wrap the LiterARTure season on May 19.

Terry Concert Hall is located on Dolphin Drive.

Tickets are $180 for the four-part series or $50 apiece at the door. To reserve a seat, go to searchingforidentity.org.
