There have been lots of exciting things for residents at Cypress Village lately.

Saturday, May 1, they hosted their Spring Art Show, featuring over 50 pieces of artwork created by residents. The Spring Art Show and reception took place in Egret Hall.

The staff love being able to feature the artworks that residents have created and look forward to being able to enjoy them for the next two months while they are up on display.

Last week, they had a book signing by resident Mort Crim, the original anchorman that the Will Farrell movie was based on. Cypress Village resident, Mort Crim, hosted a book signing event and shared his experience writing his new memoir "Anchored: A Journalist's Search for Truth" with fellow residents at the community.

Mort Crim has reported on major conflicts around the world for more than four decades and was a major inspiration for Will Ferrell's performance in the movie Anchorman. Crim's memoir takes readers behind the camera to show what life was like when the local anchorman was as revered as the professional athlete.

The Crims have been residents at Cypress Village for almost 6 years. They also donated a signed copy of his newest book to the Cypress Village Library for all to enjoy.
