Dvořák focus of Florida Chamber Music Project concert

Florida Chamber Music Project (FCMP) will offer its first concert of the new year and fourth concert of the season on Jan. 25 with an all-Dvořák program. For this performance, sponsored by Antonia Porterfield, FCMP will be joined by celebrated pianist Hyunsoon Whang.

“The common thread between “Eclogue,” Dvořák’s Op. 56 No. 2 and his Piano Quintet in A major, Op. 81 lies in style, mood and nationalistic elements,” said Susan Pardue, the founder and artistic director of FCMP. “His hallmark melodic expressiveness, pastoral tone, folk-inspired elements and chamber intimacy make these two pieces beautiful and accessible.”

Tickets are available now on FCMP’s website or at the door. The concert will be held at the Beaches Museum Chapel and Museum at 505 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville Beach. Beaches Museum Chapel is wheelchair-accessible, and all attendees are invited to join the artists for refreshments following each concert.

The Florida Chamber Music Project aims to foster joy, connection and education in the community through live classical chamber music. Pardue is regularly joined by fellow Jacksonville Symphony musicians Patrice Evans (violin), Ann Hertler (violin), Laurie Casseday (cello), Victoria Stjerna (violin), and Igor Khukhua (violin) as well as frequent special guests of remarkable talent.
