EveryPet has announced a significant milestone in its Veterinary Student Training (SVT) Program, completing its 2,000th student-performed surgery. This achievement underscores the program’s dual mission of advancing veterinary education while expanding access to high-quality surgical care for pets in the community.
The milestone surgery was performed on one of two housemates, Minnie or Pebbles, whose nearly identical charm made it impossible to determine which pet officially marked the 2,000th procedure. In recognition of their equal contribution to this moment, both pets are being celebrated as part of the milestone.
“This achievement represents far more than a number,” said EveryPet CEO Jennifer L. Barker. “Each surgery reflects a meaningful learning opportunity for veterinary students and a step forward in improving access to compassionate, high-quality care for pets and their families.”
The Veterinary Student Training Program at EveryPet provides hands-on surgical experience under the supervision of licensed veterinary professionals, helping prepare the next generation of veterinarians while serving the needs of local pet owners. Over the course of the program, hundreds of veterinary students from around the country have gained critical clinical experience that bridges classroom learning with real-world practice.
EveryPet extended its gratitude to the students, staff, clients, supporters and the animal patients who have made this milestone possible. As the organization looks ahead, it remains committed to growing the program and continuing to provide impactful educational experiences while expanding access to veterinary care.
