The Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp were at home April 14-19 against the Charlotte Knights in their second homestand of the season.
Jacksonville is currently defending its 2025 International League and Triple-A National Championship titles.
The Jumbo Shrimp won the first four games and lost the final two, going 4-2 in the series against the Knights.
On Friday, April 17, more than 6,000 fans came out to VyStar Ballpark to watch the Jumbo Shrimp defeat the Knights 4-1.
Before the game, the Yulee Little League Party Bandits were honored as the Stars of Tommorow, and the choir from Jacksonville Classical Academy sang the National Anthem.
Left-handed pitcher Robby Snelling got the start for the Jumbo Shrimp and posted six shutout innings and nine strikeouts.
Jacksonville was first on the board with Kyle Stowers, Maximo Acosta and Joe Mack all scoring runs in the bottom of the fourth to make it 3-0.
Mack made it 4-0 when he got a homerun off a fly ball to right field in the bottom of the eighth inning.
The Jumbo Shrimp were not able to get the shutout as Rikuu Nishida scored a homerun for the Knights at the top of the ninth.
The Jumbo Shrimp are currently on the road taking on the Gwinnett Stripers in a six-game series. They will return home May 5-10 for a rematch with the Knights.
