Ponte Vedra Beach’s own Colette Heffernan, a sixth grader at Landrum Middle School, delivered an exceptional performance at the 2025 FLYRA Middle School State Cross Country Championship held in Lakeland on Nov. 1. Competing against the fastest middle-school runners from across Florida, Heffernan placed fourth overall, (third for Public and Private) earning recognition as the fourth fastest middle-school girl in the entire state … as a sixth grader!
Landrum Middle School coaches and teammates praised Colette’s dedication and work ethic, noting that her success reflects both natural talent and unwavering commitment to training.
Ponte Vedra continues to be a proud home to rising young athletes, and the community looks forward to cheering Colette on in future seasons.
