Michael and Carla Resetar opened ScanManFL in 2022 and are now serving an important need in the community. The business performs fingerprinting services and more using the latest technology. Their office is located in the Village Professional Center at 13000 Sawgrass Village Circle, Ste 13.

Tell me about ScanManFL and what services it offers, including any services that lie outside fingerprinting.

ScanManFL is an authorized Florida Department of Law Enforcement livescan fingerprint provider. Our services include Live Scan fingerprinting for various Florida Agencies like the Department of Health, Department of Business and Professional Regulation, and Division of Children and Families or anyone who has an ORI# [Originating Agency Identifier].

Our services provided include FBI background checks, ATF firearms fingerprinting, FINRA, FBI applicant print card (FD-258) and fingerprinting for expungements.

We are both Notary Public and Notary Signing agents, meaning we can notarize wills, powers of attorney, mortgage loans, refinances and HELOCs. We also offer VIN/Odometer certification, I-9 verification and office services such as scanning, faxing, emailing and copying. We can also take passport photos.

For average people, fingerprinting is something done only in police departments. But there are a lot of good reasons to seek out fingerprint services. Can you tell me a little about that?

Many people seeking licenses in the State of Florida are required to go through a Level 2 background check. This is the service provided, and we understand the police departments are no longer performing the fingerprinting service.

Mike is a retired law enforcement officer with several years’ experience obtaining fingerprints, and together we have served the public for more than 60 years combined. We have 354 five-star reviews on Google. Reading our client reviews makes it clear we are all about providing everyone, even those who call and never use our services, with an elevated five-star customer service experience.

I understand there is a way to do digital fingerprinting now, as opposed to using an ink pad. Can you tell me about that and what advantages there are?

Fingerprinting on ink cards is the old way to obtain fingerprints. LiveScan fingerprinting is the process of capturing fingerprints electronically with Livescan device.

Our state-of-the-art equipment and highly trained staff can maximize the quality of fingerprint images obtained; electronic fingerprints provide virtually error-free fingerprints. Our state-of-the-art equipment instantly reads the fingerprints and determines if the print is valid and will reduce the overall application processing time.

We can also capture fingerprints electronically and print on the FBI Applicant (FD-258) card as well.

Tell me a little bit about your backgrounds, and how you got the idea to go into this business.

Mike had a 38-year career in law enforcement, and I have been teaching for 29 years. We are public servants and have a natural ability to connect with people. Together, we decided we could offer this service to the many professionals and community members living on or near the beaches.

What do you like best about being in this line of work?

We have met the most outstanding people including medical servants, restauranteurs, Realtors and volunteers for many organizations including those from the Diocese of St. Augustine for which we are an approved vendor. Every day someone with a fantastic story and/or past comes through our door and we love to hear about it.

How can people learn more about ScanManFL?

We love phone calls. People can certainly email us through our website; however, if you do call or email, your questions will be answered expeditiously as that is another aspect of our customer service we take pride in.

On a different note, what do you like best about living here in Northeast Florida?

Northeast Florida has been our home for the last seven years. We have two children attending college, one in Florida and one in North Carolina. We have no plans to ever leave Northeast Florida as we have felt like it is our home since the day we arrived here.

How do you like to spend your free time?

Mike and I enjoy spending our weekends relaxing at the beach with our family and friends. We both love to hunt for sharks’ teeth and would say that it has become our favorite hobby. We just rescued our newest addition to the family, our boy Bandit, from K9s for Warriors, and he has taken our home by storm. He spends many of his days at ScanManFL, managing the day-to-day operations.
