The Northeast Florida Association of Realtors (NEFAR) removed 6,100 pounds of trash from local waterways during its 2026 Cleanup Northeast Florida Waters Event, bringing together over 250 Realtors, affiliates and community volunteers to help protect Northeast Florida's natural environment.

The annual event began on July 11 with a cleanup effort in Putnam County, followed by the main event on July 18 at various locations across Northeast Florida, including Duval, Clay and St. Johns counties. Participants collected litter and debris from waterways, parks, shorelines and public spaces, helping preserve the area’s natural beauty and improve the health of local ecosystems.

The waterways cleanup is one of NEFAR’s longstanding community service initiatives, reflecting the association’s commitment to caring for the communities where its members live and work. Through volunteer service, participants helped reduce pollution, protect local wildlife and create cleaner recreational spaces for residents and visitors.

NEFAR extended its appreciation to the volunteers, local partners and sponsors who supported this year’s cleanup efforts.
