Susan Gravely, the founder of VIETRI, recently visited Pineapple Post in Ponte Vedra Beach’s Sawgrass Village to meet with area residents.
Attendees of the Dec. 6 event had the opportunity to speak with Gravely and learn more about VIETRI, which offers fine Italian ceramic dinnerware and décor for the home or garden, all handmade and painted in Italy. Gravely also read and signed copies of her new children's book "The Magic of Old St. Nick.” Signed copies of the book are available at Pineapple Post.
According to the VIETRI website, Gravely, her sister and mother founded the company after taking a trip to Italy in 1983 and falling in love with Italian culture. Captivated by their hotel’s handcrafted, colorful dinnerware, the women met with the artisans of the dinnerware at a nearby factory in the town of Vietri sul Mare and were inspired to share the treasure they had discovered. Upon returning to the U.S., the women ultimately decided to import the dinnerware and sell it to American retail stores. They named their company Vietri, a tribute to the town where it all began.
