On May 13, the city of Jacksonville, JaxParks and the Downtown Investment Authority held a ribbon cutting to officially unveil the Riverfront Music Garden and re-open the Northbank Riverwalk.

The newly renovated waterfront space offers an exciting and engaging spot that is perfect for community members to celebrate Jacksonville’s longstanding influence in music.

The Riverfront Music Garden features interactive art pieces and a dedicated Walk of Fame honoring influential musicians and composers with ties to the city. It also features children’s musical playscapes, and an outdoor projection venue.

The projection shows will further enrich the space with interactive artwork that highlights Jacksonville’s culture and music legacy, creating a dynamic environment for visitors.

The Walk of Fame recognizes a diverse group of artists and cultural contributors, including: 38 Special, 69 Boys, 95 South, Allman Brothers Band, Blind Blake, Charlie “Hoss” Singleton, Classics IV, Frederick Delius, Glenn Jones, Gram Parsons, Jahaan Sweet, JJ Grey & Mofro, Johnson Brothers (James Weldon Johnson & John Rosamond Johnson), Lil Duval, Limp Bizkit, Longineu Parsons II, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Ma Rainey, Mae Axton, Marcus Roberts, Molly Hatchet, Pat Chappelle, Quad City DJs, Ray Charles, Shinedown, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Tim McGraw, Ulysses Owens, Jr., Walter Orange and Yellowcard.

The Downtown Investment Authority put together a committee of local historians, musicians, authors, and industry professionals to help guide the selection process and ensure these honorees’ contributions are permanently celebrated.

The Riverfront Music Garden is located at 300 Water St. in downtown Jacksonville.
