The Rotary Club of Palm Valley marked its End of Year changeover ceremony with a traditional “passing of the gavel,” celebrating past accomplishments and welcoming a new leadership team for the upcoming Rotary year, which began July 1.
Will Burke was officially inducted as the new club president, taking the gavel from outgoing President Walther Vliegen, during a time-honored ceremony that signifies the transition of leadership and the club’s commitment to continuing its work of service and community impact.
Burke expressed excitement about leading the club.
Vliegen shared reflections on his term, saying, “Our greatest collective achievement has been that, rather than just being good Rotarians, we’ve all become good friends. Inspired by the low member turnover, the club remains strong in its numbers, its community and its charitable engagements, and continues to provide a wholesome and educational environment. I’m proud to be a Rotarian and proud to be a member of this fine club.”
