Serene Advanced Skin Care opens med spa in Atlantic Beach

Serene Advanced Skin Care has announced the grand opening of its new practice at the Beaches Town Center. It is a dedicated med spa in Atlantic Beach.

Serene is the dream of owner and founder Colleen Clarke-Romero, who spent the last decade gaining experience in medical dermatology.

“In creating Serene Advanced Skin Care, I really wanted to focus on helping people age naturally and gracefully and make them feel confident in their own skin,” said Clarke-Romero. “We take a wellness-centered approach using research in science-based treatments that combine well with the skin's natural ability to repair itself.”

Serene’s innovative approach to antiaging combines the newest technology with holistic therapies to improve the overall appearance and function of the skin. Treatments include AQUAGOLD, Celluma light therapy, chemical peels, intense pulsed light therapy, laser resurfacing and micro-needling. Serene is one of the few centers offering state-of-the-art InMode devices such as Morpheus 8, Evolve and Evoke. The practice also offers injectable treatments like Botox and platelet-rich fibrin, along with facials, body contouring and hair restoration.

Owner Clarke-Romero believes the use of advanced technology combined with unique wellness treatments like acupuncture, cupping and massage will set Serene apart.

“At Serene, we decided to offer a variety of holistic therapies because there are many factors that contribute to poor skin health,” she said. “Some of those include stress and free radical damage, high cortisol levels and poor diet, to name a few. Our approach to skin health focuses on the overall picture and educates clients on different lifestyle factors that could be leading to different dysfunctions within the skin.”

In addition to services, Serene will sell a variety of products to support healthier skin, including medical-grade brand ZO Skin Health. Products address aging skin, acne, redness, sun protection, dry and sensitive skin. The practice also offers a variety of hair restoration products.

Clarke-Romero began her career as a certified nurse working in the emergency room while also performing laser treatments with a professional dermatologist. She returned to school to become a nurse practitioner focusing solely on dermatology. She has certifications in neurotoxins, dermal fillers, laser safety, skin rejuvenation, VI peel, micro-needling, platelet-rich fibrin and hair restoration.

Serene Advanced Skin care is located at 363 Atlantic Blvd., Suite 10, in the Neptune/Atlantic Beaches Town Center. Appointments are available at SereneAdvancedSkinCare.com.
