Spring Artisan Festival set for March 28

First Coast Cultural Center (FCCC) is hosting their Spring Artisan Festival on March 28 from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Kimberly Sheridan, the events and fundraising manager, said FCCC has hosted Holiday Shoppes for more than 30 years and wanted to host a spring event highlighting smaller local artists.

There will be 21-plus artists at the festival, and they will keep 100% of their sales. Sheridan said that the festival will be “a good way for new artists to get to know people in the community and make connections.”

The artists will have a variety of unique and fun items for sale including sterling silver and gold jewelry, quilts, crochet items, prints, knives, ceramics, purses, seashell jewelry and more. All of the items are handmade by the artists.

Festival guests will also get the chance to see the current art exhibitions, which feature the work of J.R. Huber, Eva Konya, Sandra FitzSimmons, Martina Munzar and Debbie Pounders. Pounders creates equestrian art and guests will have a chance to enter to win one of her beautiful pieces.

Upstairs, there will be a live woodcarving demonstration by Norbert Ploetz. The festival will also include live music by Jacksonville rock band, Zatara. Local favorite Italian restaurant, Trasca and Co. Eatery is partnering with the center for the event and will be donating a percentage of their sales to FCCC, as well.

Sheridan said that everyone from the community is welcome and that donations are appreciated so FCCC can continue to put on events like the Spring Artisan Festival in the future. The festival is a family-friendly event to welcome spring, support local artists and celebrate the arts!
