Spring Fling, “A Celebration of Florida and Its History,” is coming to Seawalk Pavilion on Saturday, March 28. This fun, beachside festival will include opportunities to learn about Florida’s rich history, exciting live music and a curated selection of food trucks and local vendors.
“Spring Fling is really our love letter to Florida,” said Niko Costas, founder of Real Time Entertainment & Management. “We wanted to create an immersive kickoff to the season that was more than just a concert; it’s a full-day celebration of the culture, music and food that make the Sunshine State so unique.”
He said the inspiration for the festival stemmed from wanting to provide a higher-caliber, ticketed experience at Seawalk. Because of this, Real Time Entertainment & Management is able to create a premium environment for guests while keeping the event community-focused.
Costas said the artist lineup includes an intentional, eclectic mix of genres: indie, soul, reggae and rock. Just a few of the bands include The Revivalists, Josiah & The Bonnevilles and Tank and The Bangas. The high-energy soundtrack will start at noon.
“You definitely shouldn’t eat before you get here,” Costas said. There will be a curated “Taste of the State” experience with six different food offerings featuring Florida-inspired flavors. There will be plenty of fresh seafood, tropical sweets, craft beverages and local flavors.
Part of the goal of the festival is to serve as a platform for the local creative community. Guests will have the opportunity to shop a variety of handmade goods from local vendors and artisans. The shopping experience will also include festival and band merchandise.
“We want the ‘village’ feel of the festival to be just as engaging as what’s happening on the main stage,” Costas said.
Costas hopes that the Spring Fling will become an annual event. He said this year is a pilot program approved by the City Council, and the response has been very positive. Costas and his team operate three other successful events in Jacksonville, and they envision Spring Fling becoming a staple event at Jacksonville Beach each year.
Spring Fling is the perfect way to kick off spring in Florida. The event is designed for all ages and ultimately seeks to bring people together. To learn more and purchase tickets, go to https://flspringfling.com.
