St. Johns County hosts public budget workshops

St. Johns County is hosting a series of Public Budget Workshops through May 20 as part of the Fiscal Year 2027 (FY27) budget development process, providing residents with an opportunity to observe presentations, learn about county services and engage in local government decision-making. Each session will feature detailed presentations from county departments, offices and community partners outlining their priorities, services and funding requests for the upcoming fiscal year.

Workshops have already been held for Land Management, Medical Examiner, Public Safety, Health & Human Services, Office of Public Affairs, Community & Destination Development, Emergency Management / Coastal Management / Disaster Recovery / Animal Control, Building Services and Code Enforcement, Economic Development / Office of Intergovernmental Affairs, Growth Management, Human Resources and Risk Management, Library Services, Parks & Recreation, Utility Department, Facilities Management, Purchasing and Contract Management, Public Works and Solid Waste.

All budget workshops are held at the St. Johns County Administration Building, located at 500 San Sebastian View, St. Augustine. Each workshop is broadcast live on the county’s Facebook, YouTube, and GovTV platforms. A recording of each workshop is scheduled to be available via video-on-demand on the GovTV webpage, under the Other Videos Archive, within three days of each workshop’s completion.

GovTV is also available on Comcast Cable: channel 3 in southern St. Johns County, channel 29 or 261 in northern St. Johns County, and channel 26 in Jacksonville. It is also available to U-verse subscribers on channel 99.

Limited in-person public seating will be available in the upstairs San Sebastian Conference Room. Additional public seating to watch it live on GovTV will be available in the County Auditorium in the Administration Building.

“This is one of the most important conversations we have as a team as we work to prioritize our community’s needs,” said Joy Andrews, St. Johns County administrator. “I encourage residents to take a front-row seat — either from the comfort of their home or, if space allows, in our conference room — to listen to our deliberations. Feedback from the community following these sessions will help shape my July budget recommendation to the board.”
