Summer camp season is here!

There’s still time to sign up for many summer camps! Here are some local options. Check for availability, as some camps fill up quickly.

THE LINK

There are three categories of camps this summer at the link, 425 Town Plaza Ave., Ponte Vedra, in the heart of Nocatee Town Center. To find the camps you want and to register, go to https://app.thelink.zone/tab/event/today and click on the category of your choice.

Culinary and Creative Arts Camps

Camps held on weekdays over 10 weeks, June 1 to Aug. 7. Campers will engage in hands-on cooking and crafting activities. Registration costs vary for full days of cooking and crafts, morning cooking sessions or afternoon crafting sessions.

Spartan Lego Robotics

Camps held on weekdays over 10 weeks, June 1 to Aug. 7. Campers build, code and create using LEGO WeDo and SPIKE Prime.

Registration costs vary for full or half days.

Olympic Fencing

This is a fencing camp for beginners, ages 8 to 12. Offered from 9 a.m. to noon weekdays for two weeks, June 8 through 19. Cost is $300 per week.

CODE NINJAS

Code Ninjas Camps offer kids a chance to gain tech skills and make friends. A summer camp demo day will be offered from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 4. It’s free to attend.

THE KNIGHT SCHOOL

The Knight School is planning weeklong summer chess camps, both half-day and full-day.

EAST COAST BOARDING SCHOOL

East Coast Boarding School is a premier surf school and offers lessons to all ages. It offers summer camps from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Thursday on select dates. All instructors are first aid and CPR certified. Serves Ponte Vedra Beach and surrounding beaches.

Cost: $300 per week (surf boards are provided) with an $85 deposit

Available dates: June 1-4, 8-11, 15-18, 22-25; June 29-July 2; July 6-9, 13-26, 20-23, 27-30; Aug. 3-6

LIGHTNER MUSEUM

Registration is open for the Lightner Museum’s summer camp. Each week, campers will explore a new theme related to the museum, its historic building and its collections. Each day will be different, with activities, games and exploration of the museum.

Times: Camp is 9 a.m. to noon and campers can be dropped off as early as 8:30 a.m. Pickup is between noon and 12:30 p.m.

Place: Lightner Museum, 75 King St., St. Augustine

Cost: $125 per child, $100 Lightner Museum household members

SURF INTO SUMMER

Surf Into Summer Surf Camp is North Florida’s longest running camp, offering surf camps in Jacksonville Beach and Ponte Vedra Beach. The emphasis is on ocean awareness, techniques, etiquette, proper equipment and wave selection. Instructors are CPR certified. Snacks and drinks are provided with a pizza party on Friday.

Ages: 7 and older

Cost: $250 per camp

Times: 8:45 to 11:45 a.m.

Two locations: Seagate Avenue across from Fletcher Middle School in Jacksonville Beach, and Mickler’s Landing in Ponte Vedra Beach.

WITT TENNIS’ PLAYER DEVELOPMENT CAMP

When: 10 a.m. to noon June 1-4, 8-11, 15-18, 22-25; June 30-July 2; July 6-9, 13-16, 20-23, 27-30; and Aug. 3-6

Where: Ponte Vedra High School’s outdoor tennis courts

Ages: Groups for 10 and under through high school players

Levels: 10U, beginners and intermediates focus on fun, fundamentals, technical skill development, agility, balance, coordination and early rally/play development. Middle school/high school/tournament athletes work hard and compete to develop rally and strategic skills with structured coaching.

What to bring: Water, sports drinks, a hat, sunscreen and snacks

Cost: $50 daily

Limelight Theatre is offering several summer camps this year. Here’s a look.

“Matilda” Week Summer Camp

Campers will spend the week singing and dancing to songs from “Matilda.” The week will end with a 15-minute showcase for family and friends.

Note: This is not the full production. Participants will work on four to five songs from the musical.

“The Sound Of Music” Week Summer Camp

Campers will sing, dance and play theatre games while learning select songs and choreography from the beloved musical, ending with a short informal showcase for family and friends.

“The Little Mermaid Jr.” Summer Production

In “Disney’s The Little Mermaid Jr.,” young performers dive under the sea with Ariel and friends, bringing the story to life through memorable music while exploring themes of love, courage and belonging.

Adapted from Disney’s Broadway production and the motion picture. Based on one of Hans Christian Andersen’s stories. This production is for intermediate/advanced students with previous theatre experience. 

Ages: 10-14

When: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday, June 15 to July 9, with Tech Week running 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 6-9

Performances will be in the Kirk Auditorium at The Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind at 5:30 p.m. July 10 and 11, and 12:30 p.m. July 12

Tuition: $525

All registered students are automatically cast in the show. Auditions for specific roles will take place on the first day. Students are required to wear jazz shoes for rehearsals. An informational email will be sent out to the email address used for registration one week prior to the start date. This email will include audition material to prepare. 

An audition workshop will be offered 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 13. This workshop is encouraged but not required.

“Oz” Week Summer Camp

Campers will spend the week singing and dancing to songs from “Wicked” and “The Wizard of Oz.” The week will end with an informal 15-minute showcase for family and friends.

“Mary Poppins” Week Summer Camp

FIRST COAST CULTURAL CENTER

The theme this year is “Up, Up & Away,” and there’s a different, exciting focus each week. Campers between the ages of 6 and 12 will draw, paint, build, sculpt and more, led by professional art teachers in a peaceful, safe setting. Discounts are available for siblings. Drop off is at 9 a.m. and pick up at 3 p.m. each camp day. Camps are held at First Coast Cultural Center, 6000B Sawgrass Village Circle, Ponte Vedra Beach.

Here’s a breakdown of the schedule and information parents need to know:

Week One: Fantasy Flyers

When: June 2-5 (four days)

Campers will learn about folklore and fantasy creatures as they draw, paint, sculpt, print and more.

Cost: $250 per child, $220 for members. Register by noon, May 25.

Week Two: Space and Beyond!

When: June 8-12

Children will draw, paint, sculpt and use mixed media to create works inspired by planets, stars and more.

Cost: $310 per child, $275 for members. Register by noon, June 1.

Week Three: Things with Wings

When: June 15-19

Campers will create drawings, sculptures and more, inspired by birds, insects, airplanes and other things with wings.

Cost: $310 per child, $275 for members. Register by noon, June 8.

Week Four: Artful Engineering

When: June 22-26

Children will create projects inspired by airplanes, helicopters, hot air balloons, kites and other machines in the sky.

Cost: $310 per child, $275 for members. Register by noon June 15.

Week Five: Aerial Perspective

When: July 6-10

Campers will create artwork based on what they imagine things look like from the air.

Cost: $310 per child, $275 for members. Register by noon June 29.

Week six: Textures in the Sky

When: July 13-17

Campers will create patterned collage, textile work, clay patterns and paint with unusual tools to create a variety of textures, inspired by clouds, weather and sunsets and sunrises.

Cost: $130 per child, $275 for members. Register by noon, July 6.

Week Seven: Reaching the Sun

When: July 20-24

Children will draw, paint, sculpt, use mixed media and more to create work inspired by things that grow toward the sun, things like trees and mountains.

Cost: $310 per child, $275 for members. Register by noon, July 13.

Culinary Summer Camp

When: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 15-19

Campers will learn kitchen safety, accurate measurements, how to prepare and cook a variety of dishes and other practical skills.

Cost: $310 per child, $275 for members. Register by noon June 8

Two-Day Drama Camp

When: 9 a.m. to noon, June 29-30

Children will work with acting coach Sheri Lahris to develop improvisational skills and learn to create scenarios.

Cost is $140 per child, $120 for members. Register by noon, June 22.

IVYBROOK ACADEMY

Local campuses of Ivybrook Academy are registering now for their preschool summer camp programs. Actual schedules may vary, so contact the desired campus for specific dates, times and availability. Camps are available for children ages 2 through 6.

Here’s a look at some of the camp themes:

  • Superhero Science Week: Campers will explore how magnets can help a superhero fly, discover what causes a volcano to erupt and investigate big ideas like inertia through exciting challenges.
  • Jungle Adventure Week: Campers will investigate towering jungle trees, winding vines and the different layers of the rainforest, while learning why rain is essential to keeping the jungle alive and thriving.
  • Storybook STEAM Week: Campers will explore beloved children’s books each day and transform the stories into creative adventures in science, technology, engineering, art and math.
  • Tiny Travelers Week: Each day highlights a different region of the world as children explore cultures, traditions and artistic expressions from various countries.
  • Splash and Dash Week: Throughout the week, children will investigate how water moves, changes and shapes the world around us through hands-on activities and playful challenges.
  • Backyard Adventures Week: Throughout the week, children will enjoy hands-on outdoor experiences such as building tents, creating nature-inspired crafts and working together to complete fun team challenges.
  • Snack Attack Week: Young chefs will explore the world of cooking through hands-on experiences with ingredients, simple food preparation and playful food science.
  • Masterpiece Maker Week: Throughout the week, children will explore a wide variety of materials, techniques and artistic styles while experimenting with painting, sculpture, and mixed-media creations.
