The Betty Griffin Center Board of Directors elected Nichole Solana and Sarah Elizabeth Thomas to join the board for the 2025-26 Fiscal Year.
Solana, a St. Augustine resident, is experienced in technology development and intellectual property management, having served in that capacity along with several positions at Mayo Clinic starting in 2012. Prior to that, Solana was a clinical research coordinator with the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, was a research technical specialist with the Fox Chase Cancer Center and worked as a contract analyst with the HCA hospital system in west Florida.
She received a bachelor’s degree in biology from Denison University in 2002 and received a master’s degree in medical science from the University of Florida College of Medicine in 2007.
Thomas, who also resides in St. Augustine, serves as the St. Johns County managing assistant state attorney for the 7th Judicial Circuit in the State of Florida. In her previous role at the State Attorney’s Office, she was the state prosecutor for St. Johns County over homicides and major cases.
She received her Juris Doctor from the Florida Coastal School of Law and was certified by the Florida Bar Association in 2015. Prior to that, she received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Louisville in 2011.
