Underwood Jewelers Ponte Vedra Beach will host its fifth annual, three-day trunk show to benefit Ayla’s Acres No-Kill Animal Rescue April 11-13.
The local jeweler will donate a percentage of all Lagos jewelry sales and will host a cocktail party and an animal adoption day, all to support the mission of Ayla’s Acres.
Underwood’s will kick off the three-day Lagos trunk show benefit with a cocktail party from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 11. Actor, artist and animal advocate Loretta Swit will be a special guest at the party and will partner with Underwood’s to raffle a Lagos Diamonds & Caviar diamond-beaded bracelet valued at $2,500.
The benefit concludes on Saturday, April 13, with a special adoption day in the parking lot at the Underwood Jewelers Ponte Vedra Beach location. Between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., Ayla’s Acres will have dogs available for adoption, along with volunteers available to discuss adoption, fostering, volunteering and other ways in which people may help support the local nonprofit’s mission.
“We are very excited that Lagos has agreed to partner with Underwood Jewelers to support Ayla’s Acres and our fifth annual trunk show and pet adoption event,” said John Rutkowski, general manager of the Ponte Vedra Beach Underwood Jewelers. “Lagos has been a leading designer in our store. Our last event was very successful and enabled us to really contribute to Ayla’s Acres’ cause.”
Ayla’s Acres’ Executive Director Fran Charlson said she appreciates the support of Underwood’s.
“The commitment that everyone at Underwood Jewelers has shown Ayla’s Acres over the past five years has been absolutely terrific,” Charlson said. “This event is a cornerstone of our fundraising initiatives and has contributed more than $25,000 to our animals and mission. We love working with Underwood’s and look forward to another wonderful event.”

Ayla’s Acres No-Kill Animal Rescue, Inc. is a St. Augustine-based nonprofit supporting adoption, spay and neuter, and responsible care of animals. Along with education, outreach, adoption and fostering programs, Ayla’s Acres maintains a 45-acre sanctuary where “unadoptable” animals may live out their lives with peace, love and dignity. The organization is currently raising money to build the St. Johns County-based Peter’s Friends Animal Resource Center, which will serve as an adoption facility, low-/no-cost spay and neuter clinic and education and outreach center. Ayla’s Acres receives no government funding, relying instead on private grants and donations of money, supplies and items that are sold through its thrift shop located at 142 King St. in St. Augustine.
