Fresh Louisiana-style cuisine has arrived in St. Johns as Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux held the grand opening of its eighth Florida location on Oct. 6. The St. Johns location at 495 Durbin Pavilion Drive is the 12th location for franchise owner Shane Morrison of R&R Brands.

“Walk-On’s has been incredibly well received by guests in Florida, so continuing our growth in the state is a natural next step,” said Brandon Landry, founder of Walk-On’s. “The team at R&R Brands has played an important role in growing this brand, and their ability to execute an excellent restaurant makes them the right partner to bring Walk-On’s to an entirely new market.”

With 80 locations nationwide, Walk-On’s prides itself on creating handcrafted-from-scratch dishes.

Cajun classics include Pepper Jack Boudin, Crawfish Étouffée and their famous Beignet Bites. Other fan-favorites include the Ahi Tuna Salad, Boom Boom Shrimp Tacos and the craveable Hickory Burger.

The hallmark of Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux is its community philanthropy, inspired by its co-founders, LSU Basketball walk-ons Brandon Landry and Jack Warner and partners, including former Saints Quarterback Drew Brees, Cowboys Quarterback Dak Prescott, former Buccaneers Linebacker Derrick Brooks and Clemson University Head Football Coach Dabo Swinney.

To celebrate the St. Johns Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux grand opening, the team presented checks totaling $5,000 to four local organizations: the St. Johns County School District’s CHARACTER COUNTS/Pursuing Victory with Honor and the Athletic Leadership Councils, Diamonds of Dreams, the St. Johns County Fire Rescue Cadet Program and the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office Special Teams Association.

“R&R Brands has proudly been part of the Walk-On’s family since 2017, and we’re excited to keep growing with a brand that delivers both incredible food and genuine community connection,” said Morrison.

Former Jacksonville Jaguars’ kicker Josh Scobee was on hand to promote the grand opening charity drive for his philanthropic partner, First Tee of North Florida.

Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux, named ESPN's No. 1 Sports Bar in America, offers scratch-made Louisiana-inspired dishes in a family-friendly, game-day atmosphere.

It is open 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 11 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday.
