After nearly 200 local students and families attended the recent Back-to-School Community Event in Arlington, Ascension St. Vincent’s is expanding the effort with a second free event at the Beach Emergency Care location to help even more families prepare for the school year.
On Saturday, Aug. 8, families can get free backpacks, school supplies, safety equipment, snacks and take part in games and family-friendly activities. Children must be present to receive supplies.
Players from Sporting JAX will make a special appearance to meet families.
The event will be held from 10 a.m. to noon at 12525 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville.
