EnterCircle 2025 to present the key to the future

Posted

Some business innovation is so transformative that it replaces the old way of doing things with newer, better alternatives. It revolutionizes not only a business or industry but the culture itself. Think of the impact made by Henry Ford’s mass production of automobiles.

Of course, there are positive ways to make such a change – such as in the Ford example – and others that may be less positive.

EnterCircle 2025 will explore this realm of change this month under the theme “Purposeful Disruption – The Key to the Future.”

EnterCircle is an annual four-day entrepreneurship and innovation summit hosted by one of the most innovative facilities in Northeast Florida – a disruptor in its own right – the link, as well as the community in which it resides, Nocatee, and presented by the link’s nonprofit arm, Sapna Foundation.

The event is timed to coincide with Global Entrepreneurship Week each November. This year’s EnterCircle summit will be held Nov. 18-21.

The first two days are devoted to youth innovation and are reserved for students, rather than the general public. In a partnership with the St. Johns County School District, hundreds of students will have opportunities to engage with entrepreneurs, explore career pathways and pitch ideas in the Innovation Challenge.

Thursday, Nov. 20, will be devoted to small business and startups. The focus will be on scaling ideas, navigating disruption and building resilient ventures.

The final day will be Women’s Day, during which women who are disruptors, leaders and visionaries and are redefining industries and closing the gender gap in entrepreneurship are celebrated.

PURPOSEFUL DISRUPTION

“Disruption,” as applied to business and technology, is an adaptation of a pre-existing term as described by Clayton Christensen in his landmark 1997 work “The Innovator’s Dilemma.” Often introduced by smaller groups operating outside the major, established business entities that tend to be satisfied with the status quo, disruption can transform industries and communities.

But to ensure that change is of the positive variety, it is best guided by empathy, ethics and emotional intelligence. The latter, first described in another 1990s work – “Emotional Intelligence” by Daniel Goleman – addresses the value of understanding and managing emotion to benefit workplace performance.

And it is through this lens that EnterCircle 2025 will examine how entrepreneurs, innovators and changemakers can do more than simply create; they can also elevate.

This is not disruption for the sake of chaos – as might be inferred in the more traditional use of the term – but rather for the sake of progress. It seeks to answer the questions: How can we use technology, creativity and emotional intelligence to make things better — not just faster? And how do we break what’s outdated so we can rebuild what’s meaningful?

Through panel discussions, conversations and collaborations, participants will discover how emotional intelligence, ethical leadership and emerging technologies can work together to redefine success, sustainability and social impact.

“Purposeful Disruption – The Key to The Future” is the latest theme for the summit that has been presented annually since 2021. Past themes have been: “Innovation” (2021), “Resilient Leadership” (2022), “Thrive with Purpose” (2023) and “Serendipity: Connecting the Dots” (2024).
