Ponte Vedra Beach resident Helen Morse was recently reappointed as chairman of the board of directors for Volunteers in Medicine.
The appointment marks the second term that Morse will serve as the organization’s board chair. Under her leadership, the organization has seen a significant increase in donor and community support, including the receipt of a challenge grant from the Delores Barr Weaver Fund.
“The Delores Barr Weaver Fund Challenge Grant was an incredible gift to our organization,” Morse said. “To be able to tell our donors that their contributions would be matched was quite compelling and the unprecedented result of our fundraising efforts only further confirmed that fact.”
Through the grant and other fundraising efforts, Morse noted, the organization’s annual fund campaign raised more than $250,000.
“Helen has done an exemplary job leading our organization and defining a very clear vision for our future,” Volunteers in Medicine CEO Mary Pat Corrigan said. “As a result, the board of directors unanimously voted to re-appoint her in order to maintain the momentum she has created during her tenure as chair this past year. We are incredibly fortunate to have someone who is so passionate and personally committed to our mission.”
