As you prepare for Thanksgiving this year, keep in mind the following events being offered locally for the holiday.

Make a reservation at Vernon’s for a Thanksgiving Day feast to remember.
This year’s buffet features items such as fresh shucked oysters with muscadine mignonette; butternut squash bisque with nutmeg crema; black pepper honey glazed turkey with giblet gravy; pumpkin and ricotta ravioli with sage brown butter, walnuts and shaved parmesan; a build-your-own apple cider bar and more.
Dinner is served from 12:30 to 6 p.m., and reservations can be made by calling Vernon’s at (904) 373-2098. The dinner buffet costs $65. For children under 12, the dinner buffet is $24.
Then, join the Sawgrass Marriott team on Saturday, Nov. 24 for the annual tree lighting ceremony, held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

One Ocean Resort & Spa is offering a special Thanksgiving brunch and dinner at its signature restaurant, Azurea, on Thanksgiving Day.
The AAA four-diamond restaurant will offer diners the opportunity to experience a traditional Thanksgiving meal including slow roasted young turkey, sweet marble and yukon gold potatoes, corn-leek spoon bread, cabernet giblet demi and cranberry-apple chutney.
For less traditional offerings, brunch and dinner menus feature tasty options such as crab cake benedict and Faroe Island’s salmon to a domestic rack of lamb and lobster brie omelet.

Texas de Brazil
The recently opened Texas de Brazil location in Jacksonville at 4634 Town Center Parkway will kick off its Thanksgiving Day festivities at 11 a.m.
Guests will enjoy the full rodizio style menu, which includes its bountiful 50-item salad area and selection of succulent churrasco grilled meats. In addition, a variety of traditional Thanksgiving fare will be offered such as roasted turkey, stuffing and other must-have holiday sides dishes included with regular dinner pricing.
