Realtors collect backpacks, school supplies for local students

Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Network Realty recently announced its 20th annual Backpack Challenge

The Northeast Florida real estate firm is collecting new backpacks and school supplies for local children at area Florida Network Realty offices through Aug. 2.

Florida Network Realty is passionate about supporting the Backpack Challenge because the staff and management believe that starting the school year with a new backpack filled with needed supplies is key to a successful school year.

Last year, the firm collected and donated more than 750 backpacks filled with school supplies for local children. The company has set a goal to exceed last year’s donations.

“Words cannot express how much we appreciate the numerous donations and generous support we receive from our team members and the community during the Backpack Challenge,” said Christy Budnick, president and CEO. “We want all the children living in our communities to begin the school year with confidence and prepared for education success, and this effort helps us accomplish that goal.”

Over the years, children and parents have visited the firm’s offices to show their appreciation. Others have written letters and emails sharing that they feel a sense of pride and are excited to go to school with a new backpack and supplies.
